FAQ

Missed-call text back for HVAC shops: your questions, answered.

How the text works, how carrier rules apply, what each package includes and what happens after launch. Anything not covered here we walk through on a 20 minute call.

What is missed-call text back?

Missed-call text back is an automatic text message sent to a caller when nobody at your shop picks up. Instead of the call ending in voicemail, the caller gets a reply from your business number asking what they need. The conversation starts while they are still looking for someone to fix their AC or furnace, and you get the lead.

How fast is the text sent?

The text goes out within seconds of the missed call. Speed matters because fewer than 3% of callers leave a voicemail, and 82% of people call a competitor after a missed call, according to the HiGrovi and Quo reports cited on our home page. We do not promise an exact delivery time, because carrier networks vary.

Do I need text-message consent and carrier registration (A2P 10DLC)?

In the US, businesses that send texts through ordinary local numbers generally need to register with the carriers, known as A2P 10DLC registration, and must honor every request to stop. Carrier registration is a step in every Elegacy build: delivery starts the day it is submitted. What we need from you, and how opt-outs are handled, is covered on the intro call. This is general information, not legal advice.

Can I keep my existing phone number and phone system?

The text goes out from your business number, so callers see a number they recognize. Whether you keep your current number and phone system, forward calls, or port the number depends on your phone provider and how your shop answers calls today. We confirm the setup for your shop on the intro call, before you sign anything.

What is included in each package?

Starter ($1,500): a 5 page website, UX design, a beta iPhone app, and missed call text back with owner alerts. Growth ($2,400): everything in Starter, a working first version of the app with online booking and push notifications, follow up texts for unsold quotes, and review requests. Full Service ($3,000): everything in Growth, custom UX design, a full iPhone app, and add ons.

How long does the build take?

It depends on the package: Starter takes 4 weeks, Growth takes 5 to 6 weeks, and Full Service takes 6 to 8 weeks. Delivery starts once you have signed the proposal, paid the 50% deposit and carrier registration has been submitted. The remaining 50% is due on launch, and we take payment through Square.

What does the monthly care plan cover?

The care plan begins after launch and covers changes, monitoring, message updates and support. Each week you get a report showing missed calls, texts sent, replies and jobs booked. Starter and Growth are $750 a month. Full Service is $1,000 to $2,000 a month. The exact figure is confirmed in your written proposal.

Can I cancel?

Cancellation terms are not spelled out on this site. They go in the written proposal we send the same day as your intro call, so you can read them before you pay the deposit. The monthly care plan only begins after launch. If cancelling matters to you, ask about it on the call and get the answer in writing.

What does the owner alert look like?

When a missed call turns into a conversation, an alert lands on your phone showing who called and what they replied, so you can pick up the lead yourself. For example, you would see a caller writing that their furnace will not start. Growth and Full Service also add push notifications through the iPhone app.

Do you guarantee a number of new jobs?

No. Results depend on your call volume and how fast you answer replies. What we build is the system: every missed call gets a text reply and you get the lead. We do not promise a number of new jobs or extra revenue, and the dashboard on our home page is sample data, not client results.
